Photo Projects
Here is where you will find all my photo projects that I created throughout my years at Empire State College.
Project: Logos, Trademarks, and Corporate Markers
Logos, trademarks, and other corporate markers endeavor to give an impression of the company mission and to reflect the manner in which a company wants to be portrayed. Using Berger's analysis of logos and corporate identity (SCC pages 132-137) as a guide, develop an imaginary corporation and design a logo for that company. As the "specialist" in corporate identity, you will defend your design with a written analysis of the signs and signification, or identity clues, intrinsic to the symbol.
Visual Literacy Project
My goal for this project was to create a logo that represents the care provided by a veterinarian's office. By allowing you to feel safe and comfortable with leaving your pets at "Healing Paws" who will take the utmost care of your pets.
The sign that I choose to represent the human was the hand while using the paw to signify the pet. Attaching hand to paw together in the center represents the connection of man and animal. Identifying the paw touching the hand signifies the sense of caring.
I choose the "ennobled pet" font as way to reinforce who was being cared for. The use of the the text wrap also creates the feeling of a paw by wrapping around the top and bottom of the logo. The hand and paw jointed together draw your attention to the center, then drawing you upward to the text "Healing" which then wraps you around to the text at the bottom "Paws".
As stated in the text the rule is to keep it simple, use your imagination with the negative space, create a geometric formality and, a correspondence between form and meaning. (SCC 134)
