PowerPoint Projects
For this final project I needed to take active participation in a group/collaboration 30 minute presentation and 10 minutes of question and answers. We had to fully and properly researched with appropriate legitimate primary and secondary sources to support and demonstrate the content of the presentation. A properly formatted MLA bibliography was required. The project was focused on a topic provided by our Mentor and address and show a demonstration of the understanding of a narrative history of a NON – Caucasian/Non western culture. Thepresentation had to be a power point presentation.
Na Group Project
The project consisted of collaborating with our team and create a SUBSTANTIVE multi-media public speaking group presentation regarding the relationship of a major institutional, political or social development in American History and the music which reflects the society's response and expression regarding that event/war or genre.
Everyone presented some portion of the presentation, along with speaking as if we were in a public speaking event.
We had to address the following questions:
a) What was the political landscape of America at the time?
b) What were the major influences on this development?
c) Which culture/ethnicity/race of the American population was key in this development?
d) What was the movement or war or social activism development which inspired this musical and historical element in American History?
e) What groundwork in future changes in American identify and influence was laid by this particular development/movement?
f) What form did the music take? Describe or illustrate it for the class. Use examples and perhaps select a FEW major styles etc. How did it relate to social activity? Community?
g) Who were the major composers or artists who created the music? Tell us a little bit about the personal history of these artists? Who were their musical influences? A person? An institution? A genre?
h) What were the restrictions socially, legally or religiously to their work? Where they renegades? What the major social impact and function the music held for America and the movement.
This was my group presentation for American History The Musical Journey.
