Kindergarten – Objective: Students will be able to identify the left and right side of the mouse. Modeling: Teacher will display mouse and identify the left side of the mouse with a gold sticker. Show a YouTube movie on mouse skills: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3s_OYgtl8g. Show how the mouse moves on the computer screen and what it does. Use paper mice for students to color. Guided Practice/Engagement: Students will practice their mouse skills by playing various games on my website: https://mrutan1.wixsite.com/adjcs/copy-of-mouse-skills. Independent Practice/Assessment: Students will work independently using their mouse to navigate various mouse skill sites. Formative assessment will be used by having teacher and assistants walk around assessing student mouse skills correcting as needed. A handout quiz will be used to evaluate students' knowledge of a mouse.
